Kerala TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) Review
Kerala government made compulsory success in the KTET examination for teachers on the basis of educational right that introduced by central government. The teaching candidates should pass the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) for working in the Schools under central government (CBSE Schools). Following this government of Kerala introduced the KTET exam in the state in the year 2012. The law for educational rights includes the primary schools only. But Kerala government conducts this test for high school also. The first KTET notification published before 2 years. At that time the authority said that the applicants of HSA, UPSA and LPSA PSC examinations should pass the TET in Kerala.
The KTET exam question papers were very tough in the previous years. But many candidates worked hard and passed the test to become a government school teacher in Kerala.
After the first KTET PSC had notified the HSA test. But there was not a demand for a pass in the KTET qualifying exam. Recently PSC invited application for the LP School Assistant and UP School Assistant. In that notification also there is no demand for the pass in the TET of Kerala.
Many candidates who won the TET exam have a complaint on this. According to them they took a great effort to pass the exam and spent a good amount as the coaching fee. But they had not got any benefit for their dedication. PSC maintained the old qualification criteria to apply for the new notification of teaching posts in the government sector like HSA, LPSA and the UPSA exams. The KTET qualified candidates would not get any consideration while apply for those PSC tests.
This teaching aptitude test started for increasing the quality of the teaching quality in our schools TET passed persons are well qualified and brilliant. But in the appointment procedure there is no consideration for these candidates.
The Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test is conducting in four categories. They are for LP, UP, HS and for specialist teachers. The last KTET is not necessary for writing the teacher position PSC tests. The KTET qualified candidates request the government to consider them while the preparation of the HSA. UPSA,and LPSA rank list by PSC. They wish to get a grace mark to attain a good rank in the short lists.
